Pastor Jonathan D. Fischer joined Resurrection in the fall of 2006. As the son of a pastor, he grew up in Michigan and Wisconsin. He attended Luther Preparatory School, graduating in 1998. He continued on to Martin Luther College, graduating in 2002 with a bachelor of arts degree. While in college, he concentrated his study on the Biblical languages of Greek and Hebrew. He was also involved in Forum productions and worked with the audio-visual committee.
Pastor Fischer began his studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2002. There he took classes that involved the translation and study of the Old and New Testament, studied church history, systemic theology, worship, counseling and education. He also sang in the Seminary Chorus. During his third year of seminary training, he served as a vicar (pastoral intern) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. He was graduated from the seminary in May of 2006.
Pastor Fischer’s wife is Melissa, who works as a homemaker taking care of their two sons, Elijah and Simeon, and daughter, Esther.
